First of all the past 5 weeks have been great. She’s learning a lot and getting good grades. I did a more traditional structured route for homeschooling her. Her behavior and attitude is kept up just as it would be in a classroom. I grade her work and write it all down to keep track of her averages. So I developed her first progress report for the past 5 weeks.

  • Science word search with new terms. (gills, scales, cartilage, fins, spawning, swim bladder, lamprey and roe.) Have child use these new words in creative story.

Social Studies

  • Research colonial careers: blacksmith, barber, miller, cooper, tailor and wheelwright. Have child explain what they do.
  • Research middle colonies. Draw picture of a diagram of how a mill works.
  • Research William Penn and discuss him and his role in the development of Pennsylvania.
  • What people lived in the middle colonies and how did that impact the life there.
